Expiring Notes

Pro user feature only

This section describes a feature that is only available to users of Notesnook with a Pro plan or higher.

Notesnook allows you to configure notes that automatically move to the trash. This is useful to keep your notes list free of clutter, whilst also allowing the trash to take itself out.

Setting a note to expire

  1. Right click on a note to open the note properties menu.
  2. Select Set expiry.
  3. Configure the expiry date of the note.
  4. Select Done.

  2. Tap Set expiry
  3. Configure the expiry date of the note.
  4. Select Set expiry.

Altering the expiry date

Changed your mind? No problem!

  1. Right click on a note to open the note properties menu.
  2. Hover over Change expiry.
  3. Select Remove to remove the expiry, or Change to change the date the note expires.
  1. Press on the Three dot button button.
  2. Tap Unset expiry.
  3. If you want to change the date only, you must follow the steps to create an expiring note again.

FAQs

Why didn’t my note expire? It’s past the expiry date.

Notes can’t (and won’t) expire if they are published. If you published an expiring note, it’s likely you forgot to enable the self-destruct feature while publishing. Once the note is unpublished, it’ll expire on its own, or you can move it to the trash yourself.
